MIFF 2026: From Craftsmanship to Lifestyle – LIVE, WORK, PLAY at WTCKL
On The Spot 8h
MIFF was organised around three key pillars: LIVE, WORK, and PLAY at WTCKL.
As Southeast Asia's largest furniture trade show, the Malaysian International Furniture Fair (MIFF) 2026 captivated industry players with a stunning showcase of innovation and design. Since its inception in 1995, MIFF has become a vital platform for manufacturers, designers, and buyers, bridging the gap between craftsmanship and modern living.
Hosted across two dynamic venues, the flagship World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL) and the contemporary Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), this year's fair introduced the newly rebranded FurniFusion experience at WTCKL. Visitors experienced a vibrant fusion of traditional craftsmanship, innovative commercial solutions, and lifestyle-driven explorations.
At WTCKL, the fair was organised around three key pillars: LIVE, WORK, and PLAY, showcasing a journey from foundational manufacturing and craftsmanship to integrated solutions for commercial environments, and finally to lifestyle-driven, scenario-based explorations. This framework offered visitors a coherent view of today's furniture industry, facilitating a deeper understanding of production capabilities, product logic, and evolving market trends.

Within WTCKL, the Made-in-Malaysia Hall represents the exhibition's industrial foundation. It highlights the manufacturing capabilities that have shaped Malaysia's furniture sector over decades–craftsmanship, process control, and the ability to fulfil international orders at scale.
Visitors encountered a diverse range of established product lines, including solid wood to panel and composite constructions, designed with export markets in mind.
Rather than focusing solely on style, LIVE emphasises the production capabilities that underpin procurement decisions for international buyers.

If LIVE reflects Malaysia’s manufacturing foundation, WORK shifts the focus to workplace application. Anchored by MIFF OFFICE, this segment brings together brands responding to the changing demands of contemporary office environments through structured and solution-led design.
Rather than presenting standalone products, WORK highlights integrated workplace configurations–seating, workstations, storage systems, and collaborative arrangements developed for flexibility and sustained daily use. As hybrid work patterns and adaptive layouts continue to influence global office planning, functionality, ergonomics, and spatial efficiency remain central considerations.
For buyers and project planners, MIFF OFFICE provides practical references grounded in real commercial application–solutions aligned with corporate requirements, project scalability, and long-term performance expectations.

In contrast to the manufacturing focus of LIVE and the structured workplace solutions presented in WORK, The Muse Hall introduces a more exploratory dimension to WTCKL. Rather than organising displays strictly by product category, the space places furniture within lifestyle-oriented settings, allowing visitors to experience how design interacts with atmosphere, functionality, and everyday living.
Across the hall, themed displays span living, and leisure settings, creating an immersive experience of how design interacts with everyday life. Brands including Forest Furniture, Universal Interior Supply, KKPL, Tachitica, Maxly Landscape, NSB Lighting, CTCS Worldwide, Cemara Ayu and SFIC present their collections within these curated settings, illustrating how furniture and interior elements come together within real spaces.
According to curator Dr Eric Leong, who has long been involved in shaping the content direction of the MIFF, the debut of the Muse Hall reflects the exhibition’s response to a changing industry landscape. While furniture fairs have traditionally centred on B2B trade, designers, architects and younger creative professionals are increasingly shaping decisions on furniture selection and procurement.
This shift is also driven in part by the growing role of designers in project-based furniture procurement. As noted by IKO iN, a programme partner within the MUSE Hall, designers today are often directly involved in large-scale projects—from hospitality to commercial interiors—where furniture selection forms part of broader spatial planning.

MIFF 2026 is not just an essential trade fair for industry players; it served as a comprehensive showcase that highlighted the future of furniture and design across two dynamic venues. At WTCKL, visitors explored the pillars of LIVE, WORK, and PLAY, while both WTCKL and MITEC offered a wealth of inspiration through design showcases, industry seminars, and insightful talks alongside a diverse range of products and innovations.
As Southeast Asia's largest furniture trade show, MIFF continues to provide an unparalleled platform for global industry exchange—bringing together craftsmanship, creativity, and forward-thinking solutions that are shaping the next chapter of furniture design.
